Savinelli Leonardo Pipe Tampers
Matching the Leonardo Pipe Series the clear designs embossed in silver on the foot are inspired by the drawings of the master – Leonardo d Vinci.
Their sturdy construction and practical size make them a pleasure to use.
PIPES (see The Complete Pipe Smoker and article) - most commonly: …. a broken mouthpiece.
Soften the blow by holding the pipe at the heel of the bowl, not by the
stem, to avoid breaking the stem; and where possible knock against a soft
surface eg. a cork knocker, rather than a hard glass or ceramic ashtray,
or the nearest wall.

Preserving your Pipe
- ongoing care
every smoke insert a plain pipe cleaner in the mouthpiece. When the pipe
has cooled, remove the mouthpiece (gently pulling and twisting), remove
the filter (if there is one),
and pull the cleaner right through (away from the lip or you might get a bitter deposit on the lip). For thorough,
"long life" cleanliness, use a Bristle cleaner and cleaning
liquid through the shank at regular intervals - about one in every
FOR A PERFECT FINISH - Care of the whole pipe Stem Polish, Bowl Polish, Cleaning Fluid
POLISHES - "Periodically clean the inside of the shank
and the heel of the bowl
with a bristle cleaner and solvent,
polish the mouthpiece and the surface
of the bowl."
The spray (right) has 3 advantages.
You just give a burst into the shank / mouthpiece, let it sit for a moment and then run a bristle cleaner through (included) and give it a good scrub. As usual being careful not to twist and drill into the bottom of the bowl, or scrub too hard around a bend in the mouthpiece of a bent pipe.

Obsidian Pipe Stem Oil isn’t a wax or a cleaner. Obsidian Pipe Stem Oil is specifically designed to help keep your vulcanite, ebonite or Cumberland stems from oxidizing and help keep them looking newer for longer. In addition to conditioning and sealing the pores of the vulcanite, thus resulting in much less oxidation, Obsidian also contains small amounts of organic quality UVA/UVB protection. Try it and see why it should become a permanent part of your pipe collection! It’s also great for new pipes. Each 15ml bottle should last for months with regular use!
Directions: After smoking, wipe off the stem.
Apply a few drops of Obsidian oil to the stem and rub in. After 30 minutes, wipe the stem with a soft cloth and store as usual.
