Sometimes
a small cup of coffee is all that is necessary to finish off a meal,
and sometimes there isn't time for a full cup of tea. So it is with
your pipe smoking. There are occasions when a small bowl of tobacco
is all that is needed to fill a “smoke break” - or any 10 minute gap in the day or night.
It could also be suitable for that richer tobacco you enjoy after
dinner, like the small glass you use for a fine liqueur.
Because the bowls are small, the quality is frequently above that of a
similarly priced larger pipe, and the design is often elegant which appeals to the lady pipe smokers.
Today the scope has extended considerably, including compact pipes which are more robust and suitable for “out and about”. We have divided the range into “slender and elegant” and “short and chunky”. Also available are easily portable Pipe and Case sets and Swivel stem pipes for a small pocket.
The next time you are going to a show, or have a break between meetings,
just think how useful it would be to have a 10 minute pipe already
filled, ready to smoke when the time comes - even if, with the current
laws, you have to sit in your car. |
Mignon |

– Just 18cm and 25g
- a perfect 10 minute pipe,
very elegant. Metal arrestor.

Sepia-brown

Black Sandblast

Finishes:
Natural – a light honey-blonde stain reveals the grain of the selected bowls. This finish can only be used on the better quality pipes – no flaw is concealed. The colour will deepen with smoking to a rich golden-brown.
Sepia-brown – a true brown - not too red, not too yellow, not too dark. It highlights the grain without over-emphasising the surface flaws.
Black Sandblast – shows the grain in relief, with a beautiful glossy finish.
Mini |
Elegant and delightful.
Six different shapes each in perfect proportion for its shape, just minimised.
The shanks are too slim to carry a 6mm “filter” but the loose-fitting metal arrester will prevent small bits of tobacco from blocking the mouthpiece. It will also condense moisture coming through from the bowl, which should be minimal from such small bowls, a little Pipe spray and a wipe should keep this pipe clean and cool smoking.
Like the longer Mignon, these pipes are of the best quality we have ever had
in the short, lightweight, small-bowled class of pipes.
The feel is stunning – congratulations are due to the manufacturer.
.The Finishes
Smooth: shades of Walnut and Amber with pretty clean bowls showing good hard wood in the grain. The lighter creamy brown (almost natural) will transform to a richer honey gold colour with smoking. Other colours – shades of classic Burgundy.
Sandblasted: – (Not Rusticated) No two pipes look alike.
Colours include Black, Brown/Tan and classic Burgundy.
The roughened surfaces from the sandblasting have been softened down to offer an impulsive urge to rub fingers around, and around again – soothing.
